Wine Stories: Barolo & Barbaresco Academy masterclass in Zagreb

Organized by the Taste the Mediterranean festival The Barolo & Barbaresco Academy World Edition 2025 in Zagreb held an exclusive wine masterclass on the varieties Barolo and Barbaresco from the Langhe region.

Organized by the Taste the Mediterranean festival The Barolo & Barbaresco Academy World Edition 2025 in Zagreb held an exclusive wine masterclass on the varieties Barolo and Barbaresco from the Langhe region.

Wine experts, chefs and managers from the best restaurants and hotels in Croatia gathered at the Hilton DoubleTree hotel to discover the history of the great Italian wine academy. Under the expert guidance of Italian sommelier Sandro Minella and Croatian Daniel Čečavac, they tasted selected Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barola labels from 12 wineries.

Winemaker Miroslav Lekeš, who is also the director of the Gault&Millau guide for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, spoke to the participants of the masterclass about the production of Reva Barolo wine in Piedmont, in the town of Monforte d’ Alba. Watch the video produced by the Fino & vino TV show and find out why Barolo and Barbaresco are so special.
