The Mediterranean Women Chefs (Med Women Chefs) is an international platform whose aim is to improve the position of women in gastronomy — especially in Mediterranean countries where cooking is still considered a typical "women's job", or even an obligation. Indeed, most women cook every day. At home. But very few women cook in restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality venues. And when they do — they are almost invisible. In gastronomy, success and fame belong to men. Paradoxically, most of them learned to cook from women! Almost every great chef credits his mother's or grandmother's kitchen. Yet the numbers confirm that, on average, the ratio of women leading restaurant kitchens is 1 to 15 in favour of men. As in most professions, women are also significantly underpaid.

The Mediterranean Women Chefs aims to change this. We are a platform where each of you can share your experiences and thoughts with other women from Croatia and abroad who cook professionally. We promote networking and collaboration so that women can fight for equality in the kitchen — so that they can become as visible as the men they work alongside, based on their skills and quality. We therefore encourage them to refine their professional knowledge, develop their culinary talent, and build leadership capabilities in order to achieve the success they deserve, both professionally and personally.
