Taste the Mediterranean is moving to a new location! The most relevant international festival of Mediterranean food, wine and life style will take place in Mali Lošinj, on the island of vitality.
Since it was launched in 2014, when UNESCO included the Croatian Mediterranean diet on the list of the World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, the festival has been held in Šibenik, Rovinj, the island of Hvar and Split. The new must-see destination is Kvarner – European Region of Gastronomy for 2026, more precisely, the town of Mali Lošinj, which celebrates 140 years of tourism this year. The center of the Lošinj archipelago, known for its mild climate, impressive biodiversity and the promotion of vitality and health through the way food is prepared, will host some of the best chefs from Italy, France, Slovenia, Spain and Croatia. Together with the chefs of the local restaurants, they will prepare Mediterranean cuisine delicacies and share their knowledge and experience with future young chefs – students of the Ambroz Haračić Secondary Catering School. The passion for dishes prepared from top-quality, authentic ingredients, as well as wines produced from indigenous varieties, will bring together professionals and tourists in Mali Lošinj. This is precisely one of the goals of the Festival Taste the Mediterranean that promotes Croatia as a leading Mediterranean wine & gourmet destination.
We do not sit down at the table to eat, but to eat together” – Plutarch, 1st century
