They almost had no chance according to reports of the world’s culinary portal, but the Americans were caught by surprise and won the world’s most prestigious competition Bocuse d’Or in Lyon. Chefs Matthew Peters and Harrison Turone from the celebrated restaurant Per Se secured them a victory. Second place went to Norway while Icelanders celebrated bronze. The jury was thrilled with their performance on the plate that revolved around chicken stuffed with mushrooms, foie gras and cancer and 100% vegan food prepared by the California Asparagus with cream of roasted almonds.
