Biography
Should we be concerned about the future of bread? Miroslav Botić, Marketing and Sales Director at Lesaffre Adriatic, will explore this question among the topics discussed at the panel “Olive Growers, Winemakers and Bread for a New Era of Agriculture and Tourism”. Among other things, Botić will explain how Lesaffre develops and prepares its bakery products and how climate change is affecting the industry in which he has worked for the past 14 years. Miroslav Botić began his career at Lesaffre as Sales Director for export markets, and after five years took over responsibility for the company’s sales and marketing departments. Prior to joining Lesaffre, he worked in sales and marketing at Atlantic Grupa. Throughout his career, his focus has been on developing markets and brands, understanding customer needs, and translating sales and marketing strategies into tangible business results. This approach is particularly relevant at Lesaffre, a company known for products that are essential everyday tools for bakers – yeast, improvers, starter cultures and other solutions for fermentation and baking. The company’s best-known regional brand is di-go, the first locally produced dry yeast, manufactured more than 40 years ago in Koprivnica. Today, with the continued development and support of the Lesaffre Group, di-go remains a recognised name and a trusted partner to generations of consumers and professional bakers. At the same time, di-go has increasingly become part of projects that take the product beyond its traditional commercial context, connecting it with gastronomy, education and direct consumer experiences. One example is the di-go brand’s presence at culinary workshops and networking events organised by Lesaffre. Miroslav Botić belongs to a generation of managers witnessing the transformation of the food market. In his view, his role is about much more than selling yeast or bakery solutions. Together with his team, he seeks to anticipate changes in eating habits, bring almost two centuries of the company’s international expertise to the local market, and at the same time preserve the value and identity of brands such as di-go.
