Chef Lionel Lévy
French chef Lionel Lévy, a longtime partner and collaborator of the Taste the Mediterranean Festival and Gault & Millau Croatia, has recently become the president of Gourméditerranée, a leading association of the best chefs from Provence and the south of France.
Chef Lionel, who has participated in almost all TTM festivals and visited Croatia on several occasions, is one of the strongest advocates of the Mediterranean diet. The chef of the Alcyone restaurant, within the prestigious Hotel InterContinental in Marseille, provided the restaurant with one Michelin star and 3 Gault & Millau toques with his “southern” cuisine – a combination of Mediterranean tradition and innovation.
He is very active within the Gourméditerranée association and advocates for the realization of the program he presented under the motto Let’s build together! In addition to renewing the statute and establishing a solidarity fund for the members most affected by the COVID crisis, Gourméditerranée promotes the culinary tradition of Provence, but also of other Mediterranean countries. Ecological biodiversity, respect for food seasonality, waste management and food disposal are the most important elements of his program as well as the creation of a common database that will bring together suppliers, food producers, crafts, service workers and all related to gastronomy. He will present his activity at this year’s Taste the Mediterranean Festival in Split.
