J. Alfredo Martínez

Prof. J. Alfredo Martinez, Ph.D., is a Professor of nutrition, Head of the Department of Physiology and Nutrition and Co-director of the Institute of Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Navarra. He is the Secretary of the Federation of European Nutritional Societies since 2003 and the President of the Spanish Federation of Nutrition, Food and Dietitians since 2005. He has been awarded with many international awards and is the author of numerous publications. He was one of the principal investigators on the last large prospective study on the Mediterranean diet conducted in Spain, the PREDIMED study (N Engl J Med 2013;368(14):1279-90).
