Chef Flora Mikula
Flora Mikula is an owner and head chef of the restaurant Auberge Flora, in the eponymous hotel, near the Bastille in Paris. She grew up in Avignon, among the flavours and scents of Provence and Mediterranean dishes that are today the backbone of her cuisine. As a very young, she began to take an interest in cookery, and enrolled in gastronomy studies in Avignon. Chef Flora gained her first cooking experience working in the restaurant Christian Etienne in Avignon as a sixteen-year-old girl. Since then Flora’s long gourmet trip around the world begins which enabled her to shine in the world of gastronomy dominated by male chefs. She has worked in many top restaurants: La Manufacture Issy les Moulineaux with chef Jean Pierre Vigata, Michelin **, Le Comptoir New York with chef Laurent Manrique, Le Bernardin with chef Eric Ripair, Michelin ***, and L’Arpege Paris with chef Alain Passard, Michelin ***.
She opened her first restaurant Les Olivadres in Paris in 1996, and soon after the restaurant Les Saveurs de Flora Paris 8ème. Chef Flora Mikula was named the chef in 2009 by the Pudlo Paris guide, and she opened boutique hotel Auberge Flora in 2012.
Flora Mikula is a unique chef, with a singular personality. Not only is she passionate about produce and her culinary art, she is always quick to smile and has a sparkle in her eyes. Flora does not seek merely to nourish her guests; she strives to share her passion for taste and flavours. Her aim is nothing short of redefining the dining experience, making her Auberge more than a simple way station on people’s journeys. Shortly, it is a one-of-a-kind place where travellers can take time out to enjoy life and immerse themselves in Flora’s world.
