Sonia Mlayah Hamzaoui
Nutritionist and doctor of Sociology of food and nutrition. She graduated in sociology and received a PhD in Sociology of food at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Tunis.
She is currently working as head of research at the National Heritage Institute Tunisia and as curator of the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions in the Medina of Tunis. She worked at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations in Marseille as a member of the Scientific Committee and as the museum curator in the National Bardo Museum in Tunis.
She taught at the Higher School of Health Sciences and Techniques of Tunis and at the National Institute of Nutrition Tunisia. She participated at the salon Food’in Sud, at the Culinary Festival Cook&Share Tunisia and on the MedDiet project as lecturer and expert. At the Conference on the occasion of the launch of the project for the promotion of the Mediterranean diet, organized by FAO, the Institute for development research and the National Institute for nutrition she participated as a member of the Scientific Committee for culture. She is the author of numerous scientific papers and participated in many conferences on Mediterranean diet and intangible and cultural heritage.
