Chef Lionel Levy, France

Alcyone Restaurant, InterContinental Hotel Marseille
3 toques G&M (16.5/20), Michelin *

The chef of the well-known Alcyone restaurant in the InterContinental Hotel in Marseille is one of the most ardent advocates of the Mediterranean cuisine. He learned from internationally recognized chefs such as Eric Fréchon and Alain Ducasse, and in 2005 his work was rewarded with a Michelin star, later also with three Gault&Millau toques.  Freshly caught fish from Vieux-Port, meat from top quality producers and vegetables from farms in Provence form the basis of his gastronomy.

He has been collaborating with the Taste the Mediterranean Festival and Gault&Millau Croatia for years. Chef Levy is the president of Gourméditerranée, the leading association of the best chefs from Provence, in the south of France. They endorse the Let’s build together programme, which aims to promote the culinary tradition of Provence and other Mediterranean regions, provide aid to members hit by the Covid crisis, promote biodiversity, respect for seasonal ingredients and waste management. Levy also supports the idea of founding a joint database which would bring together all suppliers, food producers, artisans, hospitality workers and other people involved with gastronomy.
