After finishing high catering school, he worked as a cook in shipping companies and in several restaurants in Zadar, finally settling down in the Foša restaurant, whose dishes are based on the philosophy of the Mediterranean diet.

Thanks to his dedication, first the gained the sous chef status and in 2017 he took over the position of executive chef. In doing so, his goal is to prepare fresh, high-quality dishes in a modern way, while retaining its original taste. Imaginative creations and the dedicated team work leads the restaurant to the Michelin recommendation for two years in a row. Gault&Millau Croatia guide awarded them with 3 toques.

He is a member of the JRE association, his constant desire for the new knowledge leads him to various trips as well as to internships in world-renowned restaurants. Despite his desire for novelties, chef Began does not want to lose the local “taste” of the restaurant, for more than 60 years known for its fish specialities. He wants the guest to be aware of the environment – Dalmatia and the Mediterranean as the seasonality of the ingredients.
