Chef Michael Gollenz
The Austrian born chef Michael Gollenz is the driving force behind the fine dining restaurant Alfred Keller at the Alhambra Boutique Hotel, in Mali Lošinj. He has just confirmed it by getting his first Michelin star.
The talented young chef has already gathered an impressive experience: he has worked with award-winning chefs Christian Scharrer and Stefan Heilemann, at the Eco Widder Bar & Kitchen in Zurich and at the Aphrodite restaurant at the Hotel Giardino in Ascona. With chef Heilemann, who was recently elected Chef of the Year 2021 by Gault & Millau Switzerland, Gollenz spent 6 years. “He was ripe for independent work,” says proudly his mentor who supported Michael in his new professional challenge. With the highest professional recommendations, chef Gollenz arrived on the island of Lošinj.
His main task was to bring a fresh concept to the restaurant Alfred Keller and raise the bar of fine dining in the hotel. Just a few months after taking over the kitchen, with his approach and philosophy of cooking, the young chef enriched the restaurant’s offer and won the praise of critics and the most demanding guests.
