Chef Lionel Levy, the new President of Gourméditerranée
We are proud to announce that the long-time partner and collaborator of Taste the Mediterranean Festival, the French chef Lionel Levy, has been elected the new president of Gourméditerranée, the leading culinary association in Provence.
Chef Lionel, who has participated in almost all TTM festivals, is one of the strongest advocates of the Mediterranean diet. With his “southern” cuisine, a blend of Mediterranean tradition and innovation, he got one Michelin star and 3 Gault & Millau toques at the Alcyone restaurant, within the prestigious InterContinental Hotel in Marseille, where he works as chef de cuisine.
Most members of Gourméditerranée (there are 80 of them) voted for his program whose motto is: Let’s build together! In addition to renewing the statute and establishing a solidarity fund for members who have suffered the most from the COVID crisis, Gourméditerranée is committed to highlighting the culinary traditions of Provence, but also of other Mediterranean countries. Ecological biodiversity, respect for seasonality, waste management and food waste are the most important points of the program as well as the creation of a common database that will bring together suppliers, food producers, craft men, service staff and others. We hearty congratulate Chef Lionel Levy and look forward to future joint projects.
