Chef Frank Renimel
Frank Renimel was born in 1976 in the vicinity of Toulouse, and discovered his true passion for cooking by working with three first-class chefs: Michel Guérard, Jean Coussau and Hans Willer. His culinary education started in Toulouse and he graduated from the School of Hotel Management in Montpellier. His education continued with the Pourcel brothers, who acquainted him with the art of La nouvelle cuisine. In 1998 he went back to his roots: he joined chef Gérard Garrigues in Toulouse and after that chef Dominique Toulousy, who became his true mentor.
In 2002, he moved to Hérald with his family, where he became chef de cuisine of the famous restaurant Relais de Pigasse. He was crowned with his first Michelin star in 2003, and started working in two restaurants: Relais de Pigasse and François Plantation. In 2007 he opened his first restaurant En Marge with his wife Isabelle in Toulouse. He confirmed his Michelin star in 2008. He was crowned with three Gault&Millau toques and was named “Big chef of tomorrow” by the French edition of the prestigious restaurant guide in 2011. In 2012, Frank and Isabelle Renimel moved their restaurant to Aureville, near Toulouse. In 2015, Gault&Millau awarded him with their highest recognition – the En Marge restaurant was named the best of the region.
