Chef Adur Arrieta, Spain
Tatapas Gastroteka, Honbarribi
Born in a country that is considered one of the cradles of global gastronomy, chef Arrieta has felt a strong connection with ingredients and food since childhood, and cooking was his way to express creativity and bring joy to people through food.
After graduating high school, for two years he studied at the culinary school of the famous Basque chef Luis Irizar. He continued learning and gaining experience at renowned restaurants in Spain (Mugaritzu, Michelin**) and São Paulo in Brazil (Mani, Michelin*, D.O.M., Michelin**). Chef Arrieta also worked as a gastronomic consultant at several restaurants in Spain and Mexico, but in 2019 he opened Tatapas Gastroteka in Hondarribi, where he is the head chef.
The passion for discovering new ingredients and flavours took him around the world, and his mission is always the same: to try new ingredients and new recipes.
At the Taste the Mediterranean Festival he will present the richness of Spanish food products and delicacies, and together with Ivica Katić, head chef at the Hotel Ambasador, prepare an exclusive dinner paired with Spanish wines.
